Okay so, I'm now about to finish my third week of college and literally so many things have happened within that span of that time. I really don't even know where to start but I guess I can start with this: I finally am starting to feel comfortable here. When I came to Humboldt I knew I was supposed to be here but it took me quite a while to realize that this is my new home. In high school my junior & senior year were spent extremely comfortably so being thrown into a completely new environment was a lot to sink in. So I felt a little out of place for a minute but, after a couple tarot card readings and self searching, I'm finally starting to feel at home here in Humboldt. My new friends. Coming to Humboldt one of the things I was most excited about was meeting new people and making new friends. I wanted a fresh start so I came in opened minded and ready to socialize. I really think it must've been fate that brought us all together but, I met what we're calling the "girl gang" almost instantly. Amanda, one of the girls and who I consider the person who brought us all together, was in my peer group for orientation and the very first day we hit it off. This then led to her inviting me to come and hang out with her and the rest of her friends which have now become my friends. They are seriously the most genuinely loving people I have ever met in my life and the amount of positive energy they give off is insane. We've all gone on so many adventures together and I know that there are so many more to come. I love them all so much and I'm so grateful for all the positive vibes they've brought into my life so far. Oh yeah also they hoop, and I'm totally getting into it. I've always been a person that likes to jam out and dance so just adding a hula hoop into the mix is perfect! I'm not the best but practice makes perfect and I'm finally starting to get the hang of different tricks and moves. Maybe by the end of the year I'll join a circus. *ba boom tisk* Holy shit it is so beautiful here. Living in the desert my entire life I wan't really exposed to much wildlife and forestry. I've always wanted to live somewhere other then the desert and now that day has come and I am so insanely happy. The first thing I do every morning now is open my window and just stare in awe. The window on my side of the dorm directly faces part of the Redwood forest so it's a pretty amazing view. I also saw my very first real life raccoon the other night! There's a tiny hill that meets down to a walk way out side of my window and the other night a tiny baby raccoon slid down the hill and the scurried away. It was seriously one of the cutest things I had ever seen. I also saw a baby fox outside of my window one morning too! There's seriously so much nature here. I love it. Seeing Thundercat for the 2nd time. Okay so I really underestimated the performing arts building we have on campus because oh my god that was one of the best sets I've ever been to. Going to this concert I thought I was going to have to go solo but I ended up running into quite a bit of people I knew on the way. This really helped the overall entire mood I was having the entire night. I originally had a balcony seat but by the time the concert started everyone basically just formed into a mosh of people. The energy in the crowd was electric and Thundercat was really feeding off of that. This resulting in endless strings of solos from each of the band members, one of my favorites being the violinist who killed it. We even ended up on stage. By the time the concert was about to end a couple of people had climbed up on stage. Thundercat must've been into it because he then motioned and told everyone to get up on stage. I ended up on the far right of the stage where the drummer was and for the remainder of the songs all of us just jammed out together in perfect harmony! It was so awesome! Update photos of myself. So I finally got my septum pierced! Any family members reading this right now please don't notify grandpa and grandma about this. I would rather them not disown me. The actually piercing itself was not really painful at all. I mean it defiantly hurt but all piercing's hurt so what can you really expect. It kind of felt like someone just pinched my septum really hard for a second and then it was over. It was worth it to me in the end and I couldn't be any happier with the outcome! I think it really fits me well and if I ever needed to hide it I just flip it up. Other then that my face has stayed pretty consistent. Life has been a lot better recently. I'm finally starting to get into a routine and feel comfortable with my surroundings. I'm just so happy!
Oh yeah also I turned 18. So now I can do things like pay taxes and legally be an adult! I wish I could write more about the feeling of turning 18 but honestly I don't really feel any different then how I felt before. I really just still feel like a kid half the time.
